This branch of the organization will deal with Racial Profiling, Wrongful death, Wrongful Convictions, Excessive Sentencing and Police Brutality. We look to retain top attorneys in areas where needed. In civil proceedings and criminal prosecutions under the common law, a defendant may raise a defense in an attempt to avoid criminal or civil liability. Developing a defense for your criminal case is a necessity if you want to ensure that your rights are protected. Some of the common defenses: self-defense, duress, entrapment, consent, abandonment, insanity and intoxication. Seven most common causes of wrongful convictions: Unvalidated Forensic Science, False Confessions, Jailhouse Informant Testimony, Police and Prosecutorial Misconduct, Poor Defense Lawyering, Systemic Racism and Implicit Bias. Only 35 states have compensation statutes of some form.The following 15 states do not: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
